Upstate NY narcotics team arrests 28 on drug, weapon charges (photos) (2025)

An Ulster County narcotics task force has arrested 28 people over the past three weeks on drug charges, as part of a larger attack on drug trades in the county.

The Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team (URGENT) announced Tuesday that seven women and 21 men are facing various drug and weapon charges following a multi-month series of investigationsinto the sale, possession and trafficking of heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, diverted pharmaceuticals and marijuana.

According to a release, URGENT has arrested more than 130 people in the months prior and has seized 28 illegal weapons, 20 decks of heroin, 275 decks of pure fentanyl, 843 grams of cocaine and $123,645.
