I did this today. I was expecting a crowd but I was first one in line after lunch hour. The hairstylist rushed the job though which was expected. She told me she will only wet my hair so she could cut it and not shampooing it. She did a quick cut and blow dry. It was a good deal but do expect to be treated differently.

Quote from windnsalsa : Never knew JCPenney had a haircut service As such, even if you'd walked through a JC Penney in the last few decades you might've never crossed by/through the salon even if you were shopping cosmetics (often an adjacent department). Good luck!

If your local store didnt have a salon before, it might now. When Sephora left, a lot of stores were redesigned/remodeled and now has a salon, usually located in the back.

I feel that as a kid in the 90s, department stores had salons back then but then they just stopped, Am I crazy? That people would get a haircut at a JCP or even a higher-end store like Nordstrom 30 years ago? I never thought about it until now but now I feel like this was definitely a thing and wasn't just for women that needed complex cuts; men and kids would be there as well.

You get what you pay for. Hair takes some time to grow back.
